Our spectacular Autumn concert had us playing pieces with a space theme, including Mars and Jupiter from Holst's Planets Suite, as well as themes from Star Wars, Red Dwarf and the film 2001: A Space Odyssey (opening to Also Sprach Zarathustra and the Blue Danube waltz).  It was a very powerful performance, playing to a very full house and the general consensus was that it was our best concert yet!

If you attended the concert, please send us some feedback in the Guestbook!

It also broke some new ground, with a few firsts: our first time playing at Borlase school; our first early evening concert; and our first time playing in the dark (with stand lights!) with a video backdrop.  Fisher's Brewery from Wycombe provided a pop-up bar, which also proved very popular.

Summer Series....

This year we took the orchestra to 4 venues in and around Marlow, starting with a very enjoyable return to the Marlow Regatta.  This was followed by our first visit to the Compleat Angler - the weather just about held off for us to stay in the garden and we were rewarded with a beautiful sunset over the river to finish our set.  We also had the slightly unusual addition of a painting of the orchestra taking shape and also being auctioned throughout the performance, raising £160 for the charity Mind.

The final 2 venues were the ever popular events at The Ship and The Bounty.  Both again lived up to expectations, with a perfect summer's evening yet again in the very full garden at The Ship and a fantastic Sunday afternoon to finish the series at The Bounty.

We look forward to repeat performances next year!

Spring 2019

Our regular Easter performance was again an opportunity to hear our musical director and conductor Tom Horn tell the story behind a popular symphony. This time the analysis and performance was of Schumann Symphony No. 3, the Rhenish. The performance was at our regular rehearsal venue, the United Reform Church in Marlow.

If you are thinking of joining or would like more information, please Contact Us or visit our Facebook site. The aim is to be a true community orchestra for the Marlow area, being encouraging and welcoming to new players and taking a varied repertoire to a wide variety of venues in the local area.  The social aspect is important with post-rehearsal drinks at a local pub as well as trips to the Rebellion brewery members nights.

Other events in the local area can be found on WhereCanWeGo.
